Notabl Review - AI YouTube Video Summarizer
We've tested Notabl, an AI-powered platform that converts lengthy YouTube videos into structured summaries
Welcome to this Notabl review 😊!
It's no secret that when it comes to learning something new, everyone immediately heads to YouTube. After all, what can't you find on this platform? From math tutorials to cooking recipes or exercise routines.
The problem is that many of these videos we're so interested in watching can be too long, provide the specific information we need only when the video is about to end, or contain a lot of ads. And when we finally find the key information in the video, we end up rewinding it hundreds of times to grasp the information or write it down, which wastes a lot of our time.
Considering this problem, tools like Notabl have emerged. It's a platform that allows you to convert these long YouTube videos into summaries in a very simple format and also offers the possibility of having a conversation with the video. Let's find out if this works as we imagine.
Getting Started with Notabl
When you land on Notabl, you're met with a pleasant design that immediately makes the site's purpose clear. You're greeted by a box that explicitly says, “Paste Youtube URL here,” so you know exactly what to do from the start.
You also have a variety of options to choose from based on your video's category, allowing you to generate your result in the ideal format, whether it's a general summary, a recipe, an event recap, and more. I love sites that let you test their functionality without requiring payment, and Notabl is no exception. The site offers 3 free summaries for you to experience its potential; you just need to sign in with your Google account.
If the header leaves you with any doubts, scrolling down provides clear and direct information. You'll find two sections that highlight who Notabl is for and all the features you can enjoy. Once you've used your 3 free summaries, you can continue using Notabl by purchasing a plan that suits your needs, with weekly, monthly, or annual options available. One feature I find very useful and well-thought-out is the customer support chat, available from the moment you arrive to answer any questions about the site.
How it works: Putting Notabl to the Test
As we've seen so far, the site seems super easy to use and practical. Now, let's put it to the test.
For this Notabl review, I decided to use two videos that I had already watched and that are a bit long, so we can see the platform's synthesis capability and if it takes into account the key points that interest us.
The Test: The Core Functionality
- The first video was from Joe Rogan's podcast and its interview #2255 with Mark Zuckerberg, which lasts 2 hours and 50 minutes, and I chose the 'summary' format.
- The second is the channel 'Babish Culinary Universe,' from which I chose a video where he made a braised chicken recipe that lasts 14 minutes, and I decided it should be in 'recipe' format.
To get the result, I need to:
- Connect with a Google account (even for the 3 free summaries, so they will be saved in your dashboard).
- Paste the URL of the video you want to process.
- Select the format you want to use, which is the style of the output.
- Click on Generate, and in less than 1 minute, you will have the result.
Beyond Summaries: A Conversation with the Video
One of the features I was most curious to test was the "chat with the video" feature. However, this feature is only available after upgrading to one of the paid plans.
The premise is simple: you can ask anything you want about the video, and Notabl will answer. This creates the sensation of talking directly to the video, allowing you to get a precise answer without needing to watch the clip or even read the full summary. It's far more practical than you might imagine. For the test, I decided to use the summary I had already generated for the braised chicken recipe and asked:
What is the key safety step mentioned to ensure the chicken is fully cooked after frying?
Notabl's response was clear, precise, and accurate. I have to admit, it's an incredibly useful tool and well worth the investment, especially for those specific videos that you know hold the answer you're looking for but are just too long to sit through.
The Verdict: Did It Deliver?
- The dashboard design is very clean, easy to use, and clearly shows that every detail has been thoughtfully considered.
- Regarding the content, the summary result of video #1 meticulously details each important topic discussed in the video as subtitles. I believe this allows for very precise targeting of each subject discussed, and given how long the video was, I think it summarizes it very accurately. Additionally, my result includes 'Key Insights' and 'Key Concepts,' which highlight the central themes of the text, greatly helping if I'm looking for something precise, and it concludes with a well-synthesized conclusion.
- Video #2 was my favorite result. By choosing the 'recipe' format, it truly gives me precise instructions to make the recipe discussed in the video. It details the specific quantities needed for each ingredient, then explains the process, and also included a section that condensed all the chef's suggestions. It's truly useful and practical. I will no longer have to watch the video again to prepare my braised chicken 😄
- I find the possibility to create multiple folders very practical, as it allows me to categorize all content however I want.
- Another feature that I consider very useful and important is the ability to share the summary generated by Notabl with other people. This function also becomes available when you subscribe to a paid plan.
- There's also the option to copy the generated result, so I can save it elsewhere or even send it to someone.
Pricing
While Notabl offers 3 free summaries to try the tool, continued use requires a paid plan. As of this Notabl review (June 2025), three upgrade options are available: Annual, Monthly, or Weekly.
I find these flexible payment periods well-considered, allowing users to choose the plan that best suits their needs without overspending. Regardless of the plan chosen, users gain access to all of Notabl’s features and you can cancel anytime.
Who Should Use Notabl
Even though the site clearly states who Notabl is for, I consider these four profiles to be the ones who will benefit the most from using Notabl
- Students and Researchers: To quickly summarize lectures, documentaries, or multi-hour classes, extracting key quotes and concepts for papers and studies.
- Professionals and Entrepreneurs: To analyze webinars, competitor presentations, or market research interviews, saving hours of work.
- Content Creators: To research topics, analyze videos from other creators, or even generate a draft script from a long video.
- Curious Minds and Self-Learners: For anyone who wants to learn from tutorials, courses, or podcasts on YouTube in a much faster and more efficient way.

👉 Things to consider:
- The challenge of processing non-English videos is definitely an area to work on. To realize its full potential, the platform needs to reach the largest possible audience.
In a digital world saturated with content, the biggest challenge isn't finding information, but consuming it efficiently. Long YouTube videos, packed with valuable insights but also with unnecessary details, can be a major time consumer. After thoroughly testing Notabl, it's clear that this tool isn't just another summarizer; it's a powerful solution designed to solve this exact problem.
