Postbot Review - AI Phone Answering Service
We’ve tested Postbot, an AI-powered virtual receptionist that makes sure your business never misses a call.
Welcome to this Postbot review 😊!
When you own a small or medium-sized business, you always want to answer not only your current customers' demands but also those of potential customers. After all, your main goal is to provide the best service and not lose any of them.
The problem is that when your business is still growing, it's very expensive to hire staff to meet this need. And even if you can afford it, operating 24/7 is tedious and almost impossible. This creates a limit in the minds of your customers, who are becoming more demanding and want a response as soon as possible. If you don't provide it, they're very likely to go to your competitors.
Postbot has identified this major need for small businesses today and has designed a 24/7 AI-powered phone receptionist service for these businesses so that not a single request goes unanswered. But is it as amazing as it sounds? Let's find out!
Getting Started with Postbot
The first time I entered the site, my reaction was "wow 🤩" From the very first moment, you know you're dealing with a truly professional tool. The design is well-thought-out; it has an animation in the header that makes you want to scroll and keep looking. The navigation is direct, clear, and simple. It has a clean and contemporary aesthetic, and right away, the site itself promises, "never miss another call."
The site clearly states that it's for small businesses, and it breaks this down very well in its navigation bar, where it has access to an "Industries" section. Inside, you can find every industry domain that Postbot could serve, highlighting the advantages it offers and providing the possibility and ease of getting an approximate cost thanks to its cost calculator (I'll talk more about this later in the Pricing section).
As I say in all my reviews, one of the things I like most is being able to test a service for free, and Postbot is no exception. As soon as you click "Get Started," you're redirected to a simple, clear page that, most importantly, offers you a "start free." That's right, Postbot offers 30 minutes of AI call answering that takes only 30 seconds to go live, and as highlighted on the site: "No setup fees. No monthly fees. No contracts." You just have to answer 3 questions about your small business, and you're good to go!
Once you use those 30 minutes and realize you want to hire this virtual receptionist, you'll have to pay $0.25 for every minute Postbot answers a call. So, it's 100% pay-as-you-go. This is the price at the time I'm writing this review (June 2025), which I consider a reasonable price.
Once Postbot is installed on your website, you can enjoy all the available features. You can customize your AI, get a summary of calls, and update your information at any time. Plus, you can use the customer support available anywhere on the site or schedule a 15-minute demo if you have any questions.
How It Works: Putting Postbot to the Test
As we've seen so far, not only are the design and ease of navigation amazing, but the functionalities it offers are even more promising. Let's test this virtual receptionist with Open-Launch to see how practical it can be:
Register to Postbot
First step
Once you click the Get Started button, you are directed to a page where you just need to answer 3 questions to set up:
- Business name.
- Website.
- Work email.
Once you complete this, you'll go through an email verification where they will send you a code that you must enter in the corresponding field and confirm.
Second step
A few seconds later, you'll be redirected to another page confirming that your site has been scraped to retrieve information about it and quickly complete the setup. This way, your AI receptionist will know what to say when answering calls.
They will also give you your username and a temporary password that you will use to log in.
Third step
After you log in, you'll go directly to your Dashboard. The next step is to complete your profile, and I recommend navigating through all the tabs to ensure the information filled in is what you want. The tabs you should review and configure are:
- Business information.
- Business logo.
- AI configuration.
- AI prompt.
Although, truthfully, the site's information gathering is quite good and saves you a lot of time, there are several options you can activate or deactivate based on your needs and how you want to use it. This includes purchasing minutes, enabling logs, and choosing the type of voice and language you want the call to be answered in.
The Call: The core of Postbot
Initially, I wanted to test with text messages, but I saw it wasn't working. So, I decided to contact customer support to test them as well, and their response speed and information quality are truly effective. They told me that text messages took around 24 hours to activate, but calls were instant. Therefore, I decided to conduct the test via a call.
During the call, I pretended to be someone who had seen Open-Launch and wanted to know more about the platform, and also expressed interest in a partnership. All my questions and requests were answered.
The Summary
Finally, once the call ends, the only thing left is to check the dashboard on Post.bot. In the view conversation section, you'll find the summary of the call you just had, specifying:
- The date and time the call was made.
- The topic discussed in the conversation, including what the AI responded.
- The contact number of the person who called.
- The duration of the call.
The Veredict: Did it Deliver?
I must admit it's crazy how the AI perfectly understands and correctly responds to everything you ask and say from the very first moment. It greets you with:
Hello! Thank you for calling Open-Launch, your open-source home for discovering and upvoting the best new tech products. How can I help you today?
Plus, there's a kind of background ambiance that makes you think it's a real call center!
I sincerely believe it's a platform that works very well. It has various functionalities you can use according to your needs and perfectly responds to what a business is looking for.
Pricing
Everything I've discovered about Postbot has met all my expectations. For a tool like this, one expects it to cost an arm and a leg, but the reality is that Postbot remains one of the most affordable options on the market.
Its principle of "No set-up fees, No monthly fees, No hidden charges" means you determine Postbot's cost based on your needs. It costs $0.25/minute (June 2025), and the money is deducted after calls are made. Plus, all services are included:
- Simultaneous calls.
- Call Summary.
- Available 24/7.
And remember, you get 30 free minutes when you sign up to try it out!
Postbot also has a cost calculator. The site has a tool that, in my opinion, is super useful, necessary, and practical for this type of pay-as-you-go service. It's definitely one of the site's big advantages.
This calculator allows you to figure out how much you would pay using Postbot on a weekly, monthly, or annual basis. What's even better is that it shows you a real-time comparison of what you are paying or could be paying an employee to do the same task, and finally calculates the savings you would have by using Postbot.
I did the test, choosing a pay rate of $15/hour with an employee productivity of 70%. The result was that using Postbot would save me 30% monthly compared to paying a person to do this job. It's really useful to have this tool; it allows you to foresee your budget and make decisions!
Who Should Use Postbot
To be honest, I can't think of a small or medium-sized business for which Postbot wouldn't be useful; even large companies could take advantage of this great tool. However, there are some sectors where it's almost indispensable.
| Type | Typical examples | How Postbot helps |
|---|---|---|
| Appointment-driven services | Dental clinics, salons, gyms, auto-repair shops. | Handles bookings and reschedules 24/7. |
| High-stakes inquiries where every call counts | Law firms, real-estate agents, insurance brokers. | Captures each inbound lead. Delivers instant summaries. |
| Retail & e-commerce with routine questions | Physical stores or online shops. | Answers FAQs about stock, hours, shipping and returns. |
| Seasonal or unpredictable call volume | Restaurants, event venues, travel operators. | Pay-as-you-go model eliminates off-season overhead. |
| Small field-service teams on the move | Plumbers, installers, mobile IT technicians. | Triages new jobs while teams are on-site and sends concise SMS/email dispatch summaries. |
Conclusion: Postbot
We've reached the end of this Postbot Review, and I think it's clear to everyone that Postbot meets a big need for small businesses looking to evolve.
✅ What I loved most:
- Fast, easy integration with your site.
- Multilingual voice and unlimited simultaneous calls.
- Pay-as-you-go pricing.
- Automatic SMS/email summaries after each call.
👉 Things to consider:
- A key improvement for the platform would be to treat SMS and WhatsApp customer contact as equally important as calls, which would greatly increase businesses' customer reach.

It's incredibly easy to get started, and the AI really shines, making sure every single customer call is handled smoothly, around the clock.
